B.o.B has notched five, Perry and Green are each up for four, and Arcade Fire and Lambert are vying for three awards. Bieber, Muse, Usher and Monáe are each nominated for two Grammys.
No details of the collaborative performances were released, but the Grammy announcement promised a rare, never-before-seen event for the Mars, B.o.B and Monáe segment. With the addition of Antebellum, all five Album of the Year nominees (Eminem, Arcade Fire, Gaga, Perry) are now scheduled to perform on the show. But at the same time, with the tension going on between her and Evelyn, it would have made for an entirely uncomfortable situation. Who wants to travel with that kind of tension? I know she wouldn?t have gone, anyway. And just to touch on a point brought up since we last talked, a few episodes ago, Royce told Evelyn and Jenn that their reputation had people involved with the organization of Dwayne?s breast cancer fashion show worried about drama. I think she pulled that one out of a hat, honestly. Her boyfriend was out doing interviews and telling people that the Basketball Wives were going to be there. It couldn?t have been that big of a deal if he was highlighting that. And as far as filming goes, we haven?t had any issues. Honestly, most times we film it?s fine. There have been a few moments of uproar, but the majority of time, it?s not like that, and the majority of us don?t do that. You?ve got Tami and Evelyn who?ll get loud on you, but for the most part, the rest of us are low-key. VH1 is kicking off the legendary Unplugged franchise in 2011 with soulful singer Adele, the former VH1 You Oughta Know artist whose sophomore album has been dominating charts in Europe since being released internationally Jan. 24. Sorry America, you have to wait until Feb. 22. The Adele Unplugged premieres online March 3 and airs on VH1 March 4 at 11/10c. We’ll be at the taping of the show this Thursday, Feb. 3, getting up close to hear how her raw voice sounds in a super intimate setting (yep, hard work!). Expect exclusive pics and videos in the coming weeks and follow both VH1 and TheFABlife on Twitter for real-time updates from the taping at 2/1c. While we’re guessing Adele will mostly cover material from her new album, 21, we know she’ll be performing “The Contradictions Track” — an unlikely cover song thanks to Unplugged sponsor Starburst.
